System Requirements

To run HelixChute2 you need:

• A PC running Windows 10 or Windows 11 (64-bit).
• The .NET 10 desktop runtime (installed automatically by the HelixChute2 setup if not already present).
• At least 4 GB of RAM – 8 GB or more is recommended for large chute models with many thousands of particles.
• Around 200 MB of free disk space for the program itself; DEM recordings and exported videos can use considerably more, depending on run length and frame rate.
• An internet connection for installation and for licence activation.
• A graphics card with OpenGL support. A dedicated GPU is not required, but improves drawing performance with large models.
• 1920×1080 or better monitor resolution.
• Mouse and keyboard.
• To record videos only: FFmpeg, a free video encoder, installed separately – see Installing FFmpeg. Everything else works without it.
