HelixChute2 – Overview

Helix Technologies · www.helixtech.com.au

HelixChute2 is an engineering design tool that combines 3D CAD-style drawing with a Discrete Element Method (DEM) calculation engine to predict the motion of bulk material particles through a transfer chute.

The program lets you quickly build a model of a bulk-material transfer chute station and then run DEM calculations to predict how the particles will move through it. The motion of the particles is displayed in a live 3D view, and you can add, modify or move the chute surfaces to help the material flow through the transfer efficiently – without having to guess at the trajectories or build a physical scale model.

See Program Features for a summary of what the program can do, or jump straight to Getting Started to begin building a model.

About this Help file. This is a new Help system for HelixChute2, the rewritten version of the original Helix Chute Design program. It carries forward every topic from the legacy Help file, reorganised and updated where the program itself has changed (most notably licensing, and geometry import/export). Screenshots throughout are still taken from the legacy application and will be replaced with HelixChute2 screenshots over time.
